NYC GALLERY
In 2017, MALL undertook the design study of retro-fitting a retail space for an up-and-coming gallery in NYC. The conceptual strategy was to make five new wall types with various supporting structures for each of the walls. The new 2X4, 2X6, 2X8, 2X10, and 2X12 walls would allow the gallerist to maximize her white-walls for displaying work. Smooth and thin, the walls sit proud against the bumpy and textured walls of the existing space. Existing pipes and leftover infrastructure within the gallery would be chrome plated.
